Riding Academy at LOH
Private Lessons • Group Lessons • Parent & Pony Classes
For over 70 years, the LOH Riding Academy has offered one of the area's best and most comprehensive beginning and intermediate lesson programs for all ages. Students are taught Hunt Seat and Equitation, the foundations of all English riding styles. If they like, students can learn to jump too.
Adults and children of any skill level will enjoy the high quality and talented horses that make our Riding Academy truly special. We offer several individual and group lessons every week of the year under the watchful eye of our professional instructors.
Our Riding Academy helps students reach their goals by providing instruction that takes students from the basics of horse care and ground manners to their first competitive show. Students learn skills both on and off the horse and develop into safe, confident, and knowledgeable equestrian athletes.
For adults, we offer classes conveniently scheduled during the day and after work as well as "Parent & Pony" classes for you and your child. Learn to ride and develop your equestrian skills in a relaxing and supportive environment and enjoy the amenities only LOH can offer you. Imagine...the end of a great lesson, untacking your faithful horse, then sitting in our warm and cozy Horse & Hound Clubroom or on our patio while you enjoy the beautiful Lake Oswego hills with a cool drink and good friends.
Our Riding Academy is well known for the quality of our instructors. They are carefully screened for equestrian experience, teaching skills, equine knowledge, safe practices and the ability to create a fun, safe and productive class environment. What our students are saying...

"I've been taking some lessons in the RA so I could ride with friends, and to my delight, the lessons have been really good. The quality of the RA horses is also a nice surprise." -- Susan B.
